​“This award represents an outstanding launch of a new nursery business since January 1st 2024.

​

Sisters Kayleigh and Ellie Driscoll were new to the world of business when they acquired and turned around a failing day nursery in September 2022. They went on to successfully work with the local community and expand twice in the following 18 months, providing much needed childcare places.

​

The sisters had a long-term goal of owning a family-run nursery. With a wealth of experience and a between them and a growing list of new ideas, they were excited to apply this to their own business.

Their focus is on children’s development, strong parent partnerships and stall wellbeing. The rebranded setting not only protected five employees’ jobs and 24 children’s places, but was running at full capacity within 12 months, with 19 employed staff and 113 children on roll. With the opening of the additional settings, they have not only filled all vacant spaces, but more than doubled the nursery occupancy to 104.

The increase to the staff team has enabled Precious Times to build strong relationships with apprenticeship schemes, local colleges and further education, allowing them to offer continuous professional development to staff”.
